Donate Art to Help Animals

I received a comment from BillieAnne Brady, the director of Fuzzy Face Pets, an animal rescue shelter out of Fort Worth, Texas. BillieAnne saves abandoned and homeless pets from disease and from being put down. She sells books, paintings, jewelry, and other items to raise money.

Lucky, a Shih Tzu, who has lost an eye and a front leg after an auto accident.

If any artists out there would like to help some animals, you can donate some of your work. The preferred pieces are paintings 11" x 14" to 16" x 20" of dogs, cats, horses, other animals, and landscapes. For more information about the kind of work they do, or for contact information, here is their pet rescue ebay store.

I've donated a couple of animal pieces including this one I just made of an owl (my first attempt at watercolor). I've always avoided paints but I thought I'd give them a try. It's not much, but maybe it will help a little. Seasoned artists can probably help much more. They also accept donations of towels, blankets, cleaning supplies, and dog food. Volunteers are also welcomed. If anyone would like to help some homeless animals out, please contact them.

Martial Arts Sensei

Martial arts Sensei. Approx. 5 1/2" W x 6" H pen and graphite pencil drawing on 8 1/2" W x 11" H white paper.

Stonewall Jackson

Stonewall Jackson. Approx. 8 1/2" W x 9 3/4" H pen and graphite pencil drawing on 10 3/4" W x 11 3/8" H drawing paper. I made this drawing years ago, I believe in 1998 or 1999, and signed it recently. The brown edges are from the scan, they are not on the original. This drawing was stored in a tube for years, so it now curls naturally. Maybe it can become flat again in time.

Stagecoach in the Desert

Rooster

First attempt here at using marker. Next time I'll use marker paper, as the red marker bled through the paper onto the material I had underneath. I must have moved the drawing over it while it was still wet. The scan isn't very accurate, the colors are more vibrant and the red blotches are not as stark.

Pen and marker drawing on approx. 5 1/4" W x 5 1/4" H on 7 1/8" W x 10" H white paper.

About the Artist

My name is Joe and I am 27 years old. I grew up in an artistically minded family and I used to love passing time as a little kid by drawing. I attended art school after graduating high school but dropped out to pursue vocations with higher income potential. I have taken up drawing again for fun and am experimenting with selling my drawings on eBay.

I'm a person of few words on this blog but I do appreciate your visit.

Terms and Conditions

Use of Work

Feel free to post my artwork on your blogs or websites. I only ask that you link back to the source. Please do not duplicate, reprint, or redistribute my work in any other way without my permission.

Kind-hearted criticism and debate directed at myself or others in the comment section is welcome on this blog, but please don't leave hateful or overly-vulgar comments.

Scans of the Artwork

I scan my artwork with a scanner, so the images you see on this blog are almost identical to the pieces; however, sometimes the scans detect wrinkles in the paper and distort the image. When this happens, I touch up the images in my Paint program (I use a white eraser tool to restore a white background for example). I do not distort the artwork itself nor do I intentionally manipulate or misrepresent the piece. Also keep in mind that some of the colors appear different in real life than they do online. Usually the colors of the actual piece are more vibrant, but sometimes blacks appears brown, light and bright colors appear more dull, etc. I try to describe any major differences between the scan and the original image in the description. Please do not purchase any pieces if you expect there can be a problem with regards to this.
